“A beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”
— Wabi-Sabi
Ceramic Artist Sharon Bartmann brings her past life as a graphic designer into her current world of hand built ceramics. “While you can see the eye and placement of a designer, you can also feel my need to rebel away from that world. I have always found myself drawn to that which is imperfect, rusted and worn. I wonder what placement the object had in its past and the possibilities it has for the future. The process of hand built ceramics allows me to explore this question as I try to recreate pieces that hold these qualities.” |
